Ridgeway Harmony
About Us
wantage market square
Ridgeway Harmony was formed by a small group of ladies in 1997, who, after serving many cups of tea for their men-folk (who were singing men's barbershop) decided to form a group of their own and are now growing in numbers, enjoying friendly company, having a laugh, social events - and of course singing in harmony!

We are a ladies chorus singing in four-part harmony, Barberhop style, and are affiliated to LABBS.

Apart from singing, and enjoying ourselves in good company, all members are encouraged to take part in the running of the club. We are very lucky in having Helen Carter as our Chorus Director - Helen works extremely hard for, and on behalf of the club, which is very much appreciated.

To ensure good management of the club there are two committees:

1) The Music Committee, that makes decisions on the musical direction of the chorus with representees for each part, currently consists of: Helen Carter (Music Chairperson), Sylvia Bainbridge, Fiona Bates, Sandra Helm, Anne Cox, Chris Evans, Jan Bridgeman, Liz Gold

2) The general committee, that makes decisions on the management of the chorus, currently consists of:

Chairperson: Chris Evans

Treasurer: Jan Bridgeman

Secretary: Linda Lewis

PRO: Barbara Jury and Hazel Upchurch

Membership Secretary: Chris Evans

Chorus Manager: Sylvia Bainbridge and Sandra Helm

Wardrobe Mistriss: Sandra Helm, Sylvia Bainbridge and Pauline Croucher
